Svalbard is still…

Arctic Sea Ice 220520

… surrounded by thick ice ❄, but by August and September this will change and with the experience of my weather routers Meeno Schrader and Sebastian Wache I will manage to find a route around Spitsbergen, Svalbard ⛵🌍, even if it is covered with drifting ice.

After all, Meeno and his “Wetterwelt” already accompanied Ellen Mac Arthur safely across storm-lashed oceans 💦 in the early 2000s!

The Meteo Pilot software 💻, developed by “Wetterwelt”, which I use on board, not only has numerous ways of entering weather reports and observations to give a clear picture of the current weather situation, but also to compare data and facts from over 20 years and its evaluations paint a clear, but unfortunately somewhat gloomy picture.

“Climate change and the dramatic decline in polar ice is actually happening and if we don’t act quickly and switch to renewable energy ♻🔋🔌 wherever possible, among other things, the consequences will be catastrophic!!!”

That’s why only renewable energy from wind 💨, hydro 🌊 and solar 🌞 is used on board our IY Open60AAL!

To be continued…
