Just a small, unassuming part…

Norbert is holding the starboard steering bar that doesn't fit anymore in its place because of a twisted ball joint.

but with an all the more important job! ⚙️ This bolt connects the starboard rudder to the control arm and apparently took quite a beating during its last use. That explains the deformation, and now it should be replaced as soon as possible because hairline cracks may already be present; alternatively, realigning the 316 stainless-steel can cause hairline cracks that significantly reduce the component’s strength. If this connection were to break, the consequences — as one can easily imagine — could be severe, because then the starboard rudder and control arm would literally be “out of control” ☹️
